12 August solar eclipse: all TMSA services operating normally, with additional L32 and L71 services
Due to the total solar eclipse on Wednesday, 12 August, a number of temporary traffic restrictions and special mobility measures will be in place across Menorca.
TMSA would like to inform all passengers that none of the scheduled road closures affect the regular routes operated under the IB-06 public transport contract.
Therefore, all TMSA services will operate normally, following their usual routes and timetables, although occasional delays may occur due to increased traffic during this exceptional event.
Additional L32 and L71 services
TMSA has also arranged additional services to make it easier to reach Son Bou, Talis and Sant Tomàs, three of the Official Observation Points designated by the CIME:
L32 · Maó – Son Bou
- Additional capacity on the 18:00 departure
- Special return service at 21:00
- Additional return service at 21:45
L71 · Maó – Sant Tomàs
- Special outbound service at 18:30
- Special return service at 21:30
Talis can be reached on foot from both Son Bou and Sant Tomàs.
There will be no advance ticket sales or seat reservations.
Passengers are advised to plan their journeys in advance and, whenever possible, use public transport.
Attached to this notice you will find information provided by the Consell Insular de Menorca and the Government of the Balearic Islands regarding traffic restrictions, Official Observation Points, access to restricted areas and the main safety recommendations for viewing the eclipse.
